Social Responsibility
Corporate

BODEGAS CEMÍ, SA, has committed to carrying out, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities, the CEMÍ ART PROJECT initiative, an art and culture management project, with the characteristics to become a cultural and social benchmark, highlighting not only the brand behind it, but also the country it represents.

CEMÍ ART PROJECT is a flagship initiative that combines tradition, innovation, and social commitment, dedicated to the promotion and preservation of Dominican art and culture.

As part of Responsibility, and inspired by the CEMÍ, a Taíno symbol of spirituality and connection with nature, this project seeks to pay tribute to the cultural roots of the Dominican Republic, from the pre-Columbian era to the present, empowering current and future generations of visual artists.

Project objective:

Promote
art:

To provide platforms and resources for emerging and established artists to share their vision and, in some cases, explore themes related to Dominican identity, history, and cultural diversity.

Preserve cultural heritage:

Educate students about the importance of the Taíno heritage and Dominican traditions, integrating them into artistic projects that reinterpret these values in a contemporary way.

Empower
communities:

Generate development opportunities through educational programs, workshops, and exhibitions that involve both artists and the community at large.

"Because art
not only tells stories;
also builds them…”

expected impact:

CEMÍ ART PROJECT seeks to transcend the realm of art and become a driving force of social transformation, connecting the cultural richness of the Dominican Republic with a global audience. In doing so, it not only reaffirms the brand's commitment to excellence and tradition but also creates a lasting legacy that inspires pride and belonging in the Dominican community.

We decided to dedicate our bottle and packaging illustration to paying tribute to the pre-Columbian art and culture of our island, in collaboration with visual artists Ezequiel Taveras and Ángel Urrely.
